December Playlist

Once again it has been about a month since I have updated my blog! I do apologise. November and the beginning of this month was deadline time and I was stressing out! I was procrastinating whilst stressing out about all the work I had to do… makes complete sense!

Any who, I’m back with another monthly playlist! I really enjoy making these and I think people actually enjoy some of the stuff I include, so I will continue to write them!

This month is a mixed one again! We have some indie classics, some new bands I have found such as Jaws and Circa Waves, some old favorites including The Smiths and Basement, as well as a hint of festivities with Frank Sinatra! It is quite a big list just because I am loving so much this month!

Let me know any recommendations you have for me to listen to. I’m always on the lookout for new music!

Enjoy! X

November Playlist

The weather gets colder and so my favourite season appears! This is by far the best time of year (besides all the deadlines!), where you can get cosy and layer up with jumpers and scarves. Not to mention the wonderful feeling of Christmas quickly approaching! The feeling of a new month brings new music! And since I haven’t done one of these posts since my August one, I decided to do a new one!

This months playlist is a strange one. There are about 5 different genres in one playlist and although there is nothing wrong with this, not everybody will like it. However, this playlist is a run down on some of my favourite genres out there and it’s what I’m loving this month! So I hope you enjoy a list a little bit!

Autumn Tag

Featured image source

Autumn is my all time favorite season and if you didn’t know that, where have you been?! It’s all over my social media! I am completely obsessed with autumn/fall and can’t wait for summer to be over and done with so all the leaves can start changing colours, Halloween decorations to plaster the walls of shops , for sweet cookie smelling candles to be classified as appropriate for a household and to be cosy while its cold outside! With my hot chocolate by my side and to get in the full swing of autumn, I have decided to do the autumn tag. ENJOY!

Favourite thing about Autumn?
Definitely the comfort of your own home and the warmth of cuddly blankets! I don’t think there’s anything better than walking home at about 4pm and its beginning to get dark, getting your favorite PJ’s on, sticking your favorite film/music on your TV and snuggling up with a warm drink! Also the fashion is AMAZING in autumn due to all of those wooly tights and checkered scarves tucked up in your wardrobe finally making an appearance! Also, who doesn’t love coffee shops in the autumn?!

Favorite drink?
My favorite drink in the Autumn has to be a caramel cappuccino or a hazelnut latte; each from Costa! At home I will usually buy the sachet’s of cappuccino and add caramel syrup or the Cadbury highlight hot chocolates (they’re so cheap and so low in calories and taste AMAZING!)

Favorite scent/candle?
This is such a difficult question! I’d have to say my favorite autumn scent is Yankee Candle’s Strawberry Shortcake, Pain Au Raisin and Salted Caramel! The scent’s that smell like fresh-baked cookies or cakes are always a winner for me!

Favorite lipstick?
My favorite lipstick has to be Smother from Sleek’s range! It is a dark, purple berry colour. I love dark shades in the autumn and its the seasons where my pale skin can be accepted! Dark lipsticks, pale skin = my all time favorite look!

Go to moisturiser?
I love The Righteous Butter from Soap and Glory and the Coconut Body Butter from The Body Shop! My skin gets so dry in the autumn, so I find both of these moisturiser’s so nourishing for both my face and body!

Go to colour for eyes?
Reds, oranges and browns for sure! I usually avoid winged eyeliner in the autumn and stick to heavy shadows and a thin line on the top of my eye lid! This way I’m able to wear dark lipstick without feeling to bold in the daytime!

Favorite music to listen to?
Acoustic, folk and irish music! Even though this is my favorite music throughout the year, I absolutely love the comfort and cosy feel that acoustic can give with emotional lyrics and build up of guitar playing. Most importantly, I love listening to Once the Musical, Fleetwood Mac, Hoizer, Jamie Sloan and Vance Joy!

Favorite outfit to wear?
As I said, I absolutely adore autumn fashion. This is a tricky question! I’d have to go with either a baggy jumper and roll neck with skinny jeans or woolly tights with a dress and a cardigan!

Autumn Treat?
This year, I can already tell that my autumn treat will be buying a new vinyl to make the mood even cosier in my room! I also love buying a new jumper or some new season scented candles!

Favorite place to be?
Once again, I have to pick more than one! I love either being in a coffee shop with a warm hot coffee, a book or my notepad writing new blog ideas or lyrics, OR cosy in my bed writing blog posts and reading!

They are all the questions in this tag!

I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I loved writing this. It has truly allowed me to get that autumn feeling and now I want to go and get my checker scarves out!

I am tagging anybody who loves autumn as much as I do!

Playlist of the month | August

This is going to be a monthly feature on my blog from now on! As music is one of my main loves, I have decided to each month create a playlist of some of the songs that I am LOVING!

So this month, I am beginning to get a bit tired of summer, or what we had of it here in England, and I am anticipating Autumn so much right now! I just want it to be the season of wearing baggy jumpers, dresses with thick black tights, coming into a warm home when it’s chilly outside and drinking a warm cup of coffee, stepping on crunchy leaves.

That means my pre-autumn vibes are rubbing off in my music choices. I am really digging the acoustic artists right now and how relaxing they are while you’re reading or doing daily tasks!

I’m also loving Irish artists right now, more importantly a singer/songwriter called Dermont Kennedy. He only has three songs on Spotify at the moment, but on his Instagram he is apparently writing and recording new stuff! His song An Evening I Will Never Forget is just breathtakingly beautiful. The raw emotion that he conveys through his voice is something I don’t think I will ever get over!

Of course a playlist wouldn’t be right without a few classics, so in there I have included Fast Car by Tracey Chapman which is one of my all time fave’s, as well as Dreams by Fleetwood Mac! Also, The Kooks, The Courteneers and Joy Division are included because I’m loving the indie vibes right now.

You will notice a song that will make you question, ‘did she mean to include this?’. That is Sucker For Pain from the new Suicide Squad film! I am absolutely obsessed with this film as well as the absolutely awesome album! That soundtrack is completely on point.

Finally, I have included Toothpaste Kisses by The Maccabees. This month, they have announced that they are splitting up, which is seriously so sad! Therefore, I felt it was only right to include their wonderful music in this months playlist to remember how amazing their music is! I can’t wait to see what their solo project’s will bring.

July Favorites!

July is always particularly a good one for me as its my birthday month! July 2016 has been full of new memories, travelling to new destinations and finding new favorites! In particular, my favorite moments of this month would have to be camping with my boyfriend where we travelled to Brean and Weston Super Mare, my 18th birthday and going to Barmouth! Along the way of this month, I have also found a few other favorites, including makeup, technology, books, tea and other random finds! So lets get right into it!

My first favorite of this month is the Barry M Limited Edition Super Natural eyeshadow palette. I actually had this product for Christmas off my mom, but have only just started using it properly! I absolutely LOVE it! With a mix of matte, shimmery, pale nudes to bold dark’s, its perfect for everyday use! I have found myself particularly loving the shimmery orange and matte brown shade! Using these two shades over my Light Beige Kiko eyeshadow which I will link here, it gives an amazing natural daytime smoky eye! As for the pinks, they are so subtle and pretty and can work great as just a base over the eyelid with mascara, or blended with the brown to give a once again, subtle smoky eye! The best thing about it also, is that Barry M don’t test on animals! Smiles all around from me! -I’m also not sure if Superdrug sell this anymore as this was a Superdrug Limited Edition product!-

This is a strange favorite, but has to be included in this blog post! This month I had to get new glasses as my old ones were too weak! Although I got a case for my glasses from Boots Opticians, I saw this in Home Bargains (which has amazing products and stuff like this for soo cheap!). Although tagged as a sunglasses pouch, I decided they would also work for my glasses and keep them safe! I absolutely love it so much and the design is so cute with the different swimming positions! I think I paid about £1 or £1.99 for this, but either way, COMPLETELY worth it!

A skin care favorite of this month is ASDA’s own range of skin care products, The Skin System. After seeing many bloggers and vloggers recommending foaming face washes, I decided trying some myself! My skin has been so bad this month and I have had such bad breakouts on my chin! So I decided to swap my exfoliating face wash which was rather harsh for my skin, and replaced it with this! After using it for a few weeks I’m absolutely loving it and the feel of my skin after using it! Its such a soft formula and doesn’t feel like you’re ripping a layer of your skin off! I’ve also noticed a dramatic difference in how less oily my skin actually looks! Definitely sticking to foaming face wash from now on!

This is a 2 in 1 favorite since I took the photo of my diary like that! So, starting with the journal, I picked up this cute diary from ASDA in the stationary section (my favorite department!). The design is super cute and summery, with lilies, flamingos and palm leaves. I needed a new academic diary for University in September and decided to get this one. It is divided into times and has a page specifically for a day which I love because I get more space to write about my ventures for a particular busy day!

My second favorite featured in the picture is the app Afterlight. Since becoming more involved in my Instagram and blog, I decided I need to start sticking to a theme on my IG and perhaps make my images look more professional, foccusing on the lighting and brightness etc. And this app was the most recommended app on the AppStore for those sort of things! So I decided to try it out and I’m loving it! With a simplistic design for editing photos and not being complicated like most photography app’s are, it helps me discover what edits are best for each photo I upload which I didn’t know before! On the AppStore I believe this is 79p which isn’t bad at all I don’t think! They also have great themes to take advantage of!

My book favorite of this month is the recent film release and the book that many are speaking about, Me Before You by JoJo Moyes. Now romantic books are never really my thing and when I first started reading this book I was expecting romance from the get go! But I was completely wrong. The book is a whirlwind of emotions! Laughter, tears, sadness and a few more tears! I’m not going to include any spoilers of the book just incase any of you readers are waiting to read it and haven’t yet! But it is absolutely amazing and although I got a bit lost in the middle of it, it soon picks back up and you fall in love with William Traynor whilst getting an insight and view to every characters’ life throughout the book. If you’re looking for an easy read and wanting to get in touch with your emotions, I would completely recommend Me Before You! I’m considering purchasing the sequel to this, After You but I’m not too sure yet! If you have read the next book let me know whether it is worth purchasing or if I should just keep the story as it is!DSCF0141

Another favorite this month was Clippers’ Snore and Peace tea bags. This is the most amazing type of tea to drink just before settling down in to bed, and the smells of lavender mixed with chamomile is beyond relaxing and soothing. I never expected to like this tea because I’m used to your standard green and earl tea. But I surprised myself and absolutely loved it! I got this from ASDA for £2 and will definitely be purchased in the future again!

I have a few music favorites this month! They are Hozier, my new vinyl player and Spotify’s Discover Weekly playlist. Firstly, I am loving Hozier’s self-titled album and has been on repeat since the beginning of this month! His voice and sound is so different to anything I have heard in years, and is soothing yet harshly emotional. I have also been listening to his other albums and EP’s and I am now determined to see him in concert whenever he tours! I found out about him obviously when he was in the charts with Take Me To Church, but also on my second music favorite, the Discover Weekly playlist on Spotify. If you don’t have Spotify, the Discover Weekly playlist is a collection of music that is recommended from artists and songs that you have searched. It is amazing for finding new artists for when your current music interest is getting a bit boring!

Finally, as it was my birthday this month, my fantabulous boyfriend and his family got me a vinyl player and The 1975 ‘I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It’ vinyl and I am absolutely loving it! The feeling of playing a record is so different to just putting an iPod into an Aux lead or putting a CD into a CD player. Its difficult to explain, but believe me, it feels so much better to listen to the music and see the record go round! I also have a couple vinyls from a few years ago such as Jimi Hendrix, The Eagles, Deep Purple. So I am occupied for a few months until I can purchase some more!

That is it for this month! I hope you have enjoyed this months favorites! If you have any favorites from this month, let me know in the comments section! I’d love to know some of my readers’ favorites of the months.

Thank you for reading! xxx

February Favourites!

I am soooo sorry it has been so long since my last blog post! Sixth form and work has got so stressful recently! This month has been good in the way I have bought a number of things and getting closer to the things I’m most excited for. It has been a difficult month and a very trying one to say the least but I am still positive towards the future! I also figured that I had enough to cover a favorites tag which I have been watching and reading on the internet since I was probably about 13! Although I still have 2 days left of this short leap year month, I have no more money for my favorites to change, so lets get going!

Favourite Piece of Clothing!

I got this piece quite late in the month when I was out only to buy a hairdryer… but I had to go and have a look in New Look since the new line’s for spring are coming in! This top caught my eye immediately and I just knew I needed to buy it! Having short dark hair and pale skin, I like to emphasize these features considering I can’t do much about it (and don’t particularity want to!). This top does exactly that! With some dark lipstick and black skinny jeans, I can make my features work best and feel rather confident while doing so!

Favourite scent!

Smelling like a VS Angel is the closest i’m ever going to get to being one, so I purchased Love Spell! I was surprised to see Victoria Secret body mists and lotions in T J Hughes, but not bothered by it at all! I always go into Victoria Secret while down Birmingham and just look at the sprays and perfumes while glancing back at my empty purse! I’ve looked at the VS website and I can’t see these being sold anymore, so possibly they’re selling them off maybe? But either way, that can’t take away from the smell that this mist has. It smells like a drink I’ve had before but it has the sweetest and most tropical smell ever. With hints of pineapple (from what I smell), peach and cherry blossom, I just want to be on a beach drinking Pina Colada while sunbathing under a palm tree whenever I wear it!

Favourite Lip Product!

Although I have too many lipsticks to count and there is no possible way that I may finish them all, I went on a search for a dark yet nude colour. I went on an online mission and heard good reviews on Little Mix’s lipstick collection. At first I was a bit apprehensive. You know, a girl band brings out lipstick’s and you think its targeted towards the younger teenage scene. How wrong I was!  I went for the shade ‘Jade’ (which I’m guessing Jade wears, obviously) and for £6.00 off eBay, I took the plunge and bought it. I haven’t stopped wearing it since I purchased it! After trying light pink nude colours, they just didn’t work for me and as previously mentioned, dark colours emphasize my small amount of features I kind of want to show. It is a nude purple on my lips and doesn’t feel tacky or drying, complete opposite actually! It is moisturizing and stays on my lips with about two applications throughout the day!

Favourite Fashion Accessory!

When I buy bags, I fail to pick one that will go with pretty much all outfits and will fit a good amount in! That’s where I made sure to not do the same mistake when picking this one out! Once again, I got this on the same trip to New Look and with all the sales in there at the moment, I checked out the bag section and saw they had a sale on the bags. Automatically I picked this bag up and began thinking of all the outfits I could wear with it, the make up, the hair and what I could put in it. Without looking at the price tag, I already knew I had to get this bag and finding out it was on sale for £8.99 I was not going to give it up for anything! The pattern on the front with the plait and tassel’s give it a plain yet interesting look to it, and the colour matches all of my favorite shades to wear!

Favourite book!

After studying Trainspotting for Media Studies and reading an article on the themes it contains, I was really intrigued to go to Waterstones and purchase it! So far I’m a few pages in and I am seriously enjoying it! Although Irvine Welsh has written the language to be pronounced in Scottish, it takes me a while to get into the flow of the book! However, that doesn’t take away from the humour, pain and dream to escape from a number of things that radiates from this book! I am really pleased with this purchase and can’t wait to get further into it!

A few other things I have been enjoying this month are Tropical Fruit Coolers from Costa, Orange Is The New Black on Netflix and The 1975!

I hope you have enjoyed this blog post! If I gain enough within the months I may possibly put one of these at the end of every month as I have enjoyed doing this! Next month, I’m excited for two particular things. I have recently booked tickets to see The 1975 and in the same week, I am going to my favorite place in this whole entire world; DISNEYLAND PARIS!

Thank you for reading, liking and following my blog!
